Season ticket renewals for the 2020 MLS season are officially underway.
The last decade saw the Sounders establish themselves as one of the premier soccer institutions in North America. The next ten years, however, will determine the club’s imprint on the world stage.
Here are five reasons to join us again in 2020.
Community
Results on the pitch represent only a fraction of what the club puts out into the community. They are a means to an end, as trophies and titles provide the club the necessary platform to make meaningful, positive changes in the community it serves.
In 2019, the Sounders organization unveiled its plan to become the first carbon neutral professional soccer team in North America. And through Make-a-Wish, local kids like Bheem Goyal can achieve their dreams with the knowledge that the Seattle Sounders and their fans are behind them 100 percent.
Matchday brings the soccer community together. From there, the experience is about being part of something bigger than a team, something that can make the world a better place.
Reducing the Burden
By renewing season tickets for the 2020 season, you can enroll in a 12-month plan via automatic checking to spread out payments, reducing the financial impact, as this plan is interest free. If you can’t make it to a match, you can take advantage of the ticket exchange program, where your tickets can be swapped out for an equal number of seats to an upcoming match, up to three times in a season.
Meet the Sounders
Season Membership also provides exclusive access for fans to Sounders FC players and coaches. Fans can purchase or enter to win limited opportunities to attend training sessions or watch the final 20 minutes of the match from the pitch through MatchPass Rewards. All proceeds generated are then donated to the RAVE Foundation, the charitable arm of Sounders FC that aims to invest in the community through soccer.
Alliance Member Celebration
Being an Alliance Member has its perks. Every year, the club holds an Alliance Member Celebration, where fans can interact and meet with all the players on the Sounders FC First Team, as well as the coaching staff. The team’s relationship with the community is critical, and events like the Alliance Member Celebration seek to fortify those bonds. 2019 Season Members have the opportunity to get their favorite Sounders gear autographed by favorite Sounders players, and even a selfie!
The Club
Back in 2017, Sounders FC Head Coach Brian Schmetzer outlined exactly what the club meant to him.
“We feel, I feel, that the club is a relationship between the fans and the players,” he said. That’s the club.”
Without Season Members—Alliance Members—the Seattle Sounders are just a soccer team. The club does not and cannot exist without the fans in the community. But to be a club, there has to be that symbiotic relationship with the fans.
Sounders fans have propelled the club’s meteoric rise from an upstart expansion team in 2009 to perennial contenders. You’ve been there for every step along the way, as the team won U.S. Open Cups, a Supporters’ Shield and the 2016 MLS Cup. None of the success the team has achieved on and off the pitch would have been possible without the loyal support in the stands and in the community.
