Nelson Valdez gave us some pretty memorable gifts during the club's magical postseason run last year. It was his game-winning header in the Knockout Round that sent the Sounders through to the conference semifinals, where he scored again in the first leg against FC Dallas. Valdez's knack for gift giving came through once again this week as a celebration of his son's 11th birthday.
It doesn't stop here, though. Throughout the day, Samuel received shoutouts from some of the biggest names in soccer, plus a few familiar faces for Sounders fans, too! Take a look.

Valdez also went back to his days with the Sounders for a few more shoutouts. Nicolás Lodeiro gave Samuel love while in Europe with Uruguay's national team. Meanwhile, Román Torres and Osvaldo Alonso got the entire families involved!
