TUKWILA, Wash. - The Sounders FC reserves improved to 3-0-0 in the MLS Reserve League schedule Sunday afternoon at Starfire with a 3-2 win over the Portland Timbers reserves.

Lamar Neagle and Michael Tetteh each scored their second goals in the Reserve League and Pat Noonan added another, showing that he is regaining form after missing much of the first eight weeks of the season with injuries.

David Horst scored in the second half and Bim Ogunyemi added another in stoppage time to keep it close, but Terry Boss finished the night with five saves to preserve the victory.

Neagle got Seattle on the board first in the 44th minute, sending a cross in from the right side.  His low ball into the box skipped through traffic and found its way untouched inside the far post for a goal, twisting and turning along the way like it was guided to the net for the 1-0 lead.

Noonand made it 2-0 just after halftime with a header off a cross from Neagle, this one flying through the air to find Noonan in the box for the redirection into the net for the 2-0 advantage in the 57th minute.

Portland wouldn’t let the match slip so easily though.  In the 68th minute, Rodrigo Lopez sent a free kick into the box that pinballed around in front of the net until Horst got his toe to the ball from the ground and knocked it into an open side of the net to reel Seattle in at 2-1.

Tetteh rocketed Seattle back to a two-goal edge in the 74th minute, continuing his strong play in the Reserve League.  He carried the ball up the left side and passed to Roger Levesque in the middle, then ran off of Levesque, dribbling into the box with two defenders in tow before blasting a shot past Portland goalkeeper Adin Brown for the 3-1 lead.

The Timbers made it interesting in the waning moments when Ogunyemi smashed a header past Boss to make it 3-2 in stoppage time, but that was all Portland could muster and the Sounders saluted the crowd on-hand that again supported the Sounders Reserves while also helping the Sounders FC community partners through donations at the door.
