The Sounders rookie defender enjoyed a whirlwind few days in Kansas City where he became the first rookie to make the midsummer match since Michael Parkhurst in 2005.
It’s certainly been a crazy few days for Sounders rookie DeAndre Yedlin. The 20-year-old rookie was selected by MLS Commissioner Don Garber to play in this year’s MLS All-Star Game last month and after playing 24 minutes in the midsummer exhibition on Wednesday, added another milestone to his impressive resume.
Coming on for Houston Dynamo defender Corey Ashe in the 66th minute, the Seattle native got involved in the action at every turn, creating chances and breaking them up at the other end. July 27th - Yedlin finds out that local rap sensation Macklemore and his crew would be wearing Sounders jersey during their performance at the All-Star celebration. The best part? DeAndre would be delivering them himself.
July 29th - Upon arriving in Kansas City, Yedlin meets Macklemore and presents him with his custom Sounders FC jersey...with the no.2 on the back, of course.
