The Seattle Sounders will have the opportunity to secure a second Concacaf Champions Cup title when the 61st edition of the competition kicks off on Feb. 5, 2026.
The most prestigious tournament in North America, CCC not only provides its winner with continental glory, but direct qualification to the FIFA Club World Cup.
Following the Concacaf Champions Cup draw on Tuesday, Dec. 9, the Round One match-ups are set. Based on where the Sounders are placed in the bracket, their potential Round of 16 opponent is between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Costa Rican football club C.S. Cartaginés.
Consisting of 27 teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, the tournament is structured with five rounds of elimination that include a Round One, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final. The final is a single-match format while the other four rounds are best-of-two series’, with both teams getting opportunities to play on their home turf.
The Sounders are one of nine MLS teams to be selected for the Concacaf sanctioned tournament following their Leagues Cup championship win over Inter Miami in August and are one of five teams to earn a bye out of Round One. As title-holders of the regional competition, the Rave Green will begin CCC in the Round of 16 in March. Inter Miami qualified as the other MLS side to kickstart the tournament in the Round of 16 after securing the 2025 MLS Cup.
