Communications staffer Matt Winter provides a Sounders Academy update.
Sounders FC Academy played their home openers against Cascadia rivals Portland Timbers Academy this past weekend. The U18’s drew, 1-1, thanks to a second half equalizer from Ike Crook on an assist from Jacob Hauser-Ramsey. Justin Critchlow scored a late goal on a Marcus Machado corner kick for the U16’s, but it wasn’t enough to top two second half goals from the Timbers as the Rave Green fell, 2-1.
The Academy squads return to action on October 6th and 7th when they host Arsenal FC and Real So Cal at Starfire Sports Complex.
