U16’s Stay Hot and U18’s Hit Three-Game Skid
SACRAMENTO, CA—The Sounders FC Academy U16 and U18 teams traveled down to Sacramento, Calif. this weekend to take on the California Development Academy in a league match. CDA scored a late goal to beat the Sounder U18's 2-1, while U16's downed CDA 3-0, giving them eight wins in their last nine USSDA League Games.
Michael Gallagher scored the lone goal for the Seattle U18's (7-7-3 USSDA NW Division), who have now lost three straight game.
The U16's (7-2-1 USSDA NW Division) saw goals by Duncan McCormick, Ryan Harber, and Denis Kalamar, as well as a shutout from goalkeeper Connor Adkisson. They have won 11 of their last 12 league matches.
Both academy teams return to league action on March 17 in a local rivalry match against Crossfire Premier. The game will be played at Starfire Sports Complex at 2:30 p.m.
