Another successful weekend for the Sounders academy as it topped Crossfire.
Sounders FC Academy returned to USSDA league play with a matchup with local rival Crossfire Premiere at Starfire Sports Complex. The U18’s picked up their fourth straight win with a 3-1 result and the U16’s made a late comeback to force a 2-2 draw, extending their unbeaten streak to seven games (5-0-2).
The Academy squads now take a lengthy winter break from the USSDA season, with their next matches not coming until February 2-3 when they travel to California to take on the Santa Cruz Breakers and De Anza Force.

Sounders FC vs. Crossfire Premiere (December 15) – W, 3-1
The Sounders jumped out to an early 2-1 lead when Jordan Morris scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season, then Henry Wingo scored his first. That lead would stick until McCormick added his third of the season on a cross from Ike Crook, giving him three assists on the year.

Sounders FC vs. Crossfire Premiere (December 15) – D, 2-2
After going down 2-0, Sounders FC needed two late goals from Denis Kalamar to force a 2-2 draw and avoid their second loss of the season. The brace marked the second multi-goal game of the season for Kalamar, who leads the team with seven goals.
