Following the team’s 3-1 win over Houston Dynamo at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday night, Seattle Sounders midfielder Albert Rusnák was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 12.
This is Rusnák's third time being selected for the league’s weekly honors this season.
The match was leveled heading into the second half, but Rusnák changed that immediately with a goal in the 46th minute. Pedro de la Vega cut the ball back to the Slovak international, who rocketed it one-time past Houston goalkeeper Jonathan Bond from the penalty area to make it 2-1. Then in the 58th minute, the midfielder came up clutch once again with another first-timer from six-yards out.
With the brace, Rusnák now has five goals in 2025 MLS Regular Season competition.
The Sounders return to action on Wednesday when they travel to BMO Stadium to take on LAFC (7:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360AM).
