Following the team’s 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park on Saturday night, Seattle Sounders midfielder Albert Rusnák was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 24.
This is Rusnák's fifth time being selected for the league’s weekly honors this season.
Following Jordan Morris' opening goal in the 15th minute, Rusnák extended the lead to two with an opportunity at the spot.
Then, in the eighth minute of first-half stoppage time, Jesús Ferreira found Rusnák on an overlapping run down the right flank, where the Slovak international laid the ball back to the striker to finish near the top of the six-yard box.
With his two goal contributions on Saturday, Rusnák now has a total of 8 goals and 5 assists in 2025 MLS Regular Season competition.
The Sounders return to action on Wednesday when they host the Colorado Rapids at Lumen Field (7 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360AM).
