Following the team’s 3-3 draw against the Colorado Rapids at Lumen Field on Wednesday night, Seattle Sounders midfielder Albert Rusnák was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 25.
This is Rusnák's second consecutive and sixth total time being selected for the league’s weekly honors this season after tallying a brace and an assist for the Rave Green.
In the 16th minute, Rusnák laid the ball off to midfielder Obed Vargas at the top of the box where Vargas' deflected shot gave the Sounders the intitial lead. Then in the 43rd minute, Rusnák noticed goalkeeper Zack Steffen out of position and volleyed a rocket from distance to make it 2-0 for the home side. His final goal contribution came just two minutes into the second half when he received the ball at the top of the eighteen and drove a shot into the left corner of the net.
With his three goal contributions on Saturday, Rusnák now has 10 goals and 6 assists in 2025 MLS Regular Season competition.
The Sounders return to action on Saturday when they host the San Jose Earthquakes at Lumen Field (5:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360AM).
