Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders wingback Alex Roldan to the Week 11 MLS Team of the Week bench following his excellent two-way performance in the Rave Green’s 1-1 draw at the Colorado Rapids.
Coming off a call up to the El Salvador squad for the Concacaf Gold Cup, Roldan reached another important milestone as he bagged his first career MLS goal. The strike itself perfectly encapsulates Roldan’s rise this season, as he showed savvy and pure grit to win the ball high up the field before supplying some quality to slip the shot underneath the goalkeeper.
Roldan and the Sounders return to action on Wednesday as they host the Houston Dynamo (6:00 p.m. PT; JOEtv, Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM | TICKETS) at Lumen Field.
