The accolades keep coming for Seattle Sounders defender Román Torres.

CONCACAF on Tuesday named the Panamanian captain to its 2017 Male Best XI. Torres played in 23 matches for the Sounders, anchoring one of the league’s best defenses and helping Seattle return to MLS Cup. He also scored Panama’s game-winning goal against Costa Rica in the final round of the Hexagonal to send Los Canaleros to their first FIFA World Cup appearance. CONCACAF also selected Panama’s World Cup berth for the 2017 Outstanding Performance Award. You can view the full awards lists here.

Torres’ nod is the second in three years since CONCACAF began naming a Best XI. He is joined this year by United States international and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic as well as fellow MLSers Kendall Waston (Vancouver Whitecaps/Costa Rica) and Alberth Elis (Houston Dynamo/Honduras).

On Sunday, Torres accepted the Hazaña Deportiva del Año, or Sports Feat of the Year, on Panama’s behalf at the annual Los Premios Univision Deportes gala in Miami. On Monday fans voted Torres as the Latino del Año for the second straight year.
