A soccer frenzy is set to take over the city of Seattle this summer.
In just 50 days, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will bring six matches to Lumen Field. Beginning with a Group G clash between Belgium and Egypt on June 15, the stadium will host four group-stage matches throughout the month, featuring nations such as the United States, Qatar, Australia, Iran, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The action will then shift to the knockout rounds, with a Round of 32 match on July 1 and a Round of 16 match on July 6.
Following the world-renowned tournament, the soccer mayhem continues in the Emerald City when the Sounders commence the 2026 Leagues Cup on Aug. 5. 100 days from today, the Rave Green will look to collect their second trophy from the regional competition after winning their first-ever title in 2025 over Inter Miami.Â
The Sounders are scheduled to face Toluca on Aug. 5 in their first fixture in Mexico before closing out the group stage versus Querétaro F.C. and Chivas Guadalajara at Lumen Field. Â
Seattle already has a rich history of soccer in its community, from the grassroots game all the way up to the professional ranks with the Sounders and Reign FC. It bleeds success when it comes to the sport with its loyal fans and consistent intensity on the pitch at every stage. Now, it has the opportunity to expand the game even more as the World Cup and Leagues Cup make their way to Lumen Field this summer.
