Keep your friends close but your enemies closer, right?
Jordan Morris and Cristian Roldan, the lovable BFFs / roomies on the road, stand at nefarious odds at the moment. Don't panic, though, because it's just for today and today only (we hope). Stanford, where Morris starred for three years, faces Roldan's University of Washington on Thursday at 8 p.m. PT at UW's Husky Soccer Stadium, and both Morris and Roldan will be in attendance to watch their nationally ranked alma maters. There's plenty at stake for both teams, but Roldan and Morris took it to another level.
Before they were teammates in Seattle, Morris and Roldan engaged in fierce battles at the collegiate level. In 2013, Roldan beat out Morris for PAC-12 Freshman of the Year, which, of course, Roldan frequently likes to bring up. Morris got the last laugh, though, when he led the Cardinal to a national title in 2015.
