Darwin Jones and Tony Alfaro earn USL Team of the Week honors

TUKWILA, Wash. - Seattle Sounders FC 2 have enjoyed quite the week, earning seven points in seven days, with all three results coming in late dramatic fashion.


And for their efforts, forward Darwin Jones and defender Tony Alfaro have been selected to the USL Team of the Week.


Jones scored the game-winning goal in the match’s final seconds against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Friday, earning a crucial three points for S2 ahead of the USL playoffs. Alfaro played a full 90 minutes in all three matches and recorded an assist on midfielder Jordan Schweitzer’s game-winning goal against Portland Timbers 2 on Monday.


Forward Irvin Parra also received a Team of the Week bench nod for his equalizing goal against Whitecaps 2, his first in an S2 uniform since signing on Aug 4.
