Jersey numbers hold a special place in soccer lore.
Iconic players spanning different eras of soccer are closely associated with the jerseys they donned. And with so many legends of the game sharing the same number, it often spurs debate among fans over who is the best player to sport it.
MLSsoccer.com weighed in on that discussion in a feature this week. As expected for a club of Seattle’s stature, a host of former and current members of the Sounders were selected as the best MLS players to ever wear their respective numbers.
