This week on “Winging it with Zakuani” host Steve Zakuani celebrates the Sounders' win against Toronto FC, chats with his guest Zach Scott about the transition from playing to retirement and delves into the long-standing rivalry between the Sounders and the Portland Timbers.
“The intensity that was there is something that you don’t see in a lot of rivalries, especially in soccer in the US", Scott stated at the 11:30 mark. "It really was players that were born and bred in Oregon [and Washington], and that’s not necessarily the case anymore as the clubs grow and become more international, but maybe that made the rivalry that much more intense.”
