‘Four Four Two’ ranks Seattle Sounders’ CenturyLink Field as No. 4 soccer stadium in United States

Four Four Two magazine named Seattle’s CenturyLink Field as the No. 4 soccer stadium in the United States.

FFT ranked all U.S. soccer stadiums based on five criteria — atmosphere, location, amenities, architecture and history — on a scale from one to five. CenturyLink Field received a perfect five on atmosphere, a four on location, amenities and history and a three in architecture.

“Nothing matches the magnitude of watching the Seattle Sounders at home, in front of 40,000-plus adoring fans,” the article reads. “Not in this country. Not for soccer.”

CenturyLink was ranked behind only Sporting Kansas City’s Children’s Mercy Park (No. 3), Orlando City SC’s Orlando City Stadium (No. 2) and the Portland Timbers’ Providence Park (No. 1).

The Sounders will host the New York Red Bulls in their 2017 MLS home opener on Sunday (4 p.m. PT; FS1, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS).
