Seattle Sounders FC leads all MLS clubs with four players among the top 20 best-selling adidas MLS jerseys in 2016, as announced by MLS today per the overall retail sales on MLSstore.com. Clint Dempsey – who finished at the top of the last two iterations of this list – enters the halfway point of the 2016 campaign in second place behind NYCFC midfielder Andrea Pirlo. Homegrown Player Jordan Morris ranks fourth on the list, including the top spot among all first-year players. The Mercer Island native is also the only MLS Homegrown Player in the top 20. Seattle defender Brad Evans (No. 17) and midfielder Osvaldo Alonso (No. 18) also made the list.
In addition to Seattle’s four players, three clubs featured three players on the list (NYCFC, LA Galaxy and Portland), while Orlando City SC and Sporting KC each had two. Montreal, Toronto FC and New England each had one player make the list.
Sounders FC hits the road for the first matchup of the season against the Portland Timbers on Sunday, July 17. Kickoff for the Cascadia Cup clash is set for 12:00 p.m. PT at Providence Park in the lone match of the season to air nationally on free-to-air FOX Broadcast Network.
