When Herculez Gomez signed in Seattle, the club not only gained a seasoned veteran, but they also got a witty social media expert. Before Gomez even played his first match, he was periscoping Emerald City Supporters’ March to the Match.
Fast forward to Tuesday night’s friendly versus West Ham United, where Herc scored his first goal with the club, paving the way for a perfect celebration photo.
Sounders fan Likkit Pocinwong then entered the fray, photoshopping Gomez’s celebration into Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out.
The photo inspired Gomez to then run a contest of his own, asking fans to send in their best edit of the photo, using the hashtag #HercPunchOut, with the winner receiving his game-worn jersey.
