The Seattle Sounders are visiting the Houston Dynamo on Saturday in their first of two meetings in the regular season. Here is everything you need to know:

WHEN AND WHERE: Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. local time) at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas.

WHERE TO WATCH: The match will be available to watch on Apple TV.

WHERE TO LISTEN: The match will air on iHeart Stream and in Spanish on El Rey 1360AM.

2026 MLS STANDINGS: Sounders: 3-1-1 (10 points, 5th West), Dynamo: 2-2-0 (6 points, 9th West)

PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders defeated the Dynamo 3-1 in Houston on May 10, 2025, behind an opening goal from Danny Musovski and brace from Albert Rusnák. Femi Awodesu scored for the hosts in the 32nd minute before being sent off six minutes later.

ROAD TRIP ENDING: Saturday marks the Sounders’ seventh straight match away from Seattle since their 2-0 win over the Colorado Rapids in the season-opener on Feb. 22. The Sounders have posted an impressive 4-1-1 record so far while Lumen Field undergoes renovations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a home win in Concacaf Champions Cup over the Vancouver Whitecaps at ONE Spokane Stadium in Spokane, Wash.

MINOUNGOU TRADED: Seattle sent winger Georgi Minoungou to the Rapids on March 27 in exchange for $2M in General Allocation Money. The Burkina Faso international had three goals and seven assists in 51 First Team appearances since signing from Tacoma Defiance in 2024.

PETKOVIC INJURED: The Sounders’ central midfield depth took a hit when Head Coach Brian Schmetzer announced this week that Nikola Petković had torn his ACL in training. The 23-year-old Serbian was on a season-long loan from Charlotte FC.

DEFENSIVE ISSUES: The Dynamo have conceded nine times in just four matches so far in 2026, with their 2.25 goals allowed/game the second-highest in the Western Conference. Only the Portland Timbers have averaged more goals allowed in the early season.

MLS VETERAN REINFORCEMENTS: Houston made continental waves this past offseason when it signed Polish international Mateusz Bogusz from Liga MX side Cruz Azul. Bogusz recorded 18 goals and seven assists in 60 MLS matches with LAFC in 2023 and ’24. The Dynamo on March 20 also signed defender Sam Vines, a former United States international and Colorado Rapids Homegrown talent.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Guilherme, M

The Dynamo’s other big splash this offseason came in the acquisition of Designated Player Guilherme from Santos in his native Brazil. Guilherme has been incredible through his first four MLS matches, recording four goals and three assists in just over 350 minutes.
