The Seattle Sounders’ recent unveiling of The Anniversary Kit left a memorable impression on the digital space with its trendy, vintage look.
From replies and comments on social platforms, to honorable mentions in articles of popular publications, The Anniversary Kit generated an abundance of positive reactions last Thursday.
“[The Sounders] nailed this look, and I think it will go down as an MLS classic,” said Ben Wright of broadwaysportsmedia.com after ranking the jersey No.1 out of 29 MLS recently released kits.
MLSsoccer.com staff writer J. Sam Jones also gave The Anniversary Kit a shoutout, calling it his “absolute favorite of the bunch.”
“The colorway is elite and the design elements are what people actually mean when they use the word ‘clean,’ said Jones.
The new primary kit has seen exposure beyond the soccer space as well. It was most recently featured in GQ’s piece on “The 17 Best New Menswear Items to Buy This Week.”
With its pinstripe design, the jersey “evokes that old school look, perfect for a team celebrating its 50th anniversary,” according to GQ editor Matthew Roberson.
