Perhaps you’ve never heard of Fabrizio Birimbelli, and that needs to change right now.
Birimbelli is an Italian artist better known as "Pupazzaro," specializing in painting players from the Italian Serie A club AS Roma in the style of characters from the early 19th century.
He’s expanded his repertoire to include some of the best-known players outside of Italy, however – here’s Robert Lewandowski looking like Jamie Lannister and here’s Zinedine Zidane, for example – and he recently gave Seattle Sounders and U.S. national team forward Clint Dempsey the treatment in honor of the Copa America Centenario.
