Seattle's midfield general has a tremendous record of success against the Loons in recent seasons. João Paulo put in another masterclass against Minnesota on Saturday in the Rave Green's 1-0 win at Lumen Field, earning him a spot on the Matchday 9 MLS Team of the Matchday.
Coming off a tough loss to Portland the previous week, João Paulo spurred Seattle to a bounce back win over Minnesota with a monster two-way performance in midfield. The Brazilian registered three shots, two chances created, and completed 86 of his 92 pass attempts, all while winning four tackles, four interceptions, and seven recoveries.
