SEATTLE, WASH.– Registration is now open for Sounders FC and RAVE Foundation’s 2022 Annual Rave Green Run, a 5K race presented by Virginia Mason Franciscan Healththat will take place on Sunday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. PT. This year, a flat, fast, and family-friendly 5K (3.1 miles) takes runners on the City of Tukwila's trails, providing runners with an authentic Sounders FC experience as they run through the Starfire Sports campus, the training headquarters of Seattle Sounders FC. The race ends at the Finish Line Festival presented by Dasani, where runners and spectators alike can enjoy live music, race awards, medals, delicious food, giveaways and more.
All proceeds from the Rave Green Run benefit RAVE Foundation, the official charitable arm of Sounders FC. Through this race, RAVE Foundation embraces its mission to build small fields for free play and to use soccer as a vehicle to inspire youth and strengthen communities while supporting club’s commitment to Defend the Right to Play for youth in communities where access to safe, available play-spaces is scarce.
EVENT REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN
Fans wishing to take part in the annual 5K, benefiting Rave Foundation, can register at RaveGreenRun.org. This year participants can choose from multiple options and rates are as follows:
- Early Bird Registration for the September 11 race is $35 from July 12 through August 1.
- Regular Registration is $40 per participant, and it runs from August 2 through September 9.
- A Late Registration is also available at $45 from September 9 through September 10.
- Lastly, fans interested in the race can choose a Race Day Registration on September 11 for $55 per person and until 8:45 a.m. PT. The registration booth will be located near the race start line.
This year, interested fans can choose from two different options, participating in the 5KRun/Walk or becoming a sponsor to a local student in need who would like to run. This entry is for donations only and each contribution supports RAVE’s overall goal to provide healthy, positive experiences that inspire kids in underserved communities.
In addition, all participants receive a 2022 Rave Green Run race shirt the day of the race at the pre-event pick up near the race start line.
RUNNER AWARDS ON RACE DAY
As an additional recognition, those who make it to the finish line will be awarded with prizes including Seattle Sounders FC swag, autographed items and more. This year, awards will be given out in the following categories:
- Fastest overall male and female.
- Best showing of Rave Green.
- Most Sounders FC spirit (12 or younger).
- Most Sounders FC spirit (13 or older).
Race results will be available at Rave Green Run Results.
The 2022 Rave Green Run this year is also organized in partnership with the City of Tukwila.
