Following the team’s 2-2 draw versus Charlotte FC on Saturday night at Lumen Field, Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 1.
Morris not only recorded the Sounders' only two goals of the night, he also reached a major career milestone, tying Raúl RuidÃaz as the club’s all-time leading scorer across all competitions.
After scoring his first goal of the night from a one-time finish off a cross from fellow striker Georgi Minoungou, the Seattle native continued to penetrate Charlotte's defense, eventually finding the back of the net a second time with the help of a through-ball from midifelder Albert Rusnák in the 49th minute.
Morris now has 86 career goals to show for in his 10 years with the club.
The Sounders return to action on Wednesday to face Antigua GFC in Leg 2 of the first round of the Concacaf Champions Cup (7:30 p.m. PT; FS2, ViX | TICKETS) at Lumen Field.
