Jurgen Klinsmann praises raucous Seattle crowd ahead of USMNT's Copa America Centenario clash

SEATTLE – The U.S. national team arrived in Seattle on Sunday night ahead of its Copa America Centenario quarterfinal match this week, and head coach Jurgen Klinsmann took a walk at CenturyLink Field to see just where the Americans’ huge matchup will go down.

The U.S. will face Ecuador on Thursday night (6:30 p.m.; FS1), and Klinsmann said Monday he’s hopeful Seattle’s notoriously raucous crowd will help the Americans over the top in their first match in the Emerald City in three years.

“We hope this stadium will be rocking, we hope this place will be packed on Thursday night,” Klinsmann said in a Facebook Live chat with fans. “Obviously the Seattle crowd is known for tremendous soccer support. For the Sounders it’s always packed, and always rocking here. So we hope we can do that.”

The USMNT are 7-1-1 all-time in Seattle, including a spotless 5-0 record at CenturyLink Field. The last time they played in Seattle they downed Panama 2-0 in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifier in June 2013.
