Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei to the Week 27 MLS Team of the Week bench for his strong individual performance in the team’s 2-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids on Saturday
Playing with a shorthanded and heavily rotated group due to international call-ups, Frei produced six saves to keep the Rave Green within striking distance of a result on the road.
The Sounders ‘keeper produced a Save of the Season contender in the 86th minute, denying Nicolás Mezquida a simple goal at the back post with a phenomenal reaction save.
