MATCH RECAP: Sounders FC Drops 2-0 Home Result to Vancouver Whitecaps FC

SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC (7-8-3, 24 points) fell 2-0 to first-place Vancouver Whitecaps FC (11-3-4, 37 points) on Sunday evening on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field. The loss extends Seattle’s club-record losing streak in MLS play to seven, with the last league win coming on May 13. With the result, Vancouver clinches the 2026 Cascadia Cup, the regional competition between Seattle, Vancouver and Portland. Brian Schmetzer’s side remains home to host Austin FC on Wednesday, August 19 (6:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM) before hitting road to face FC Cincinnati on Saturday, August 22 (4:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, iHeartMedia Seattle, El Rey 1360 AM).
