In the 23rd minute, a 22-pass sequence culminated with Cristian Roldan laying a ball off for Svensson 25 yards from goal. He took one touch before firing a devastating strike past a helpless Bobby Shuttleworth.
Svensson joins LAFC’s Laurent Ciman, Chicago’s Aleksandar Katai, Sporting Kansas City’s Jimmy Medranda and Real Salt Lake’s Albert Rusnak as nominees. Voting will take place until midnight Pacific Time on Wednesday and you may only vote once.
