Major League Soccer has nominated Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro’s beautiful left-footed volley against the San Jose Earthquakes for Week 6’s AT&T Goal of the Week.
Lodeiro and Clint Dempsey stood over a free kick just outside the 18-yard-box in the 84th minute. Dempsey struck a shot that deflected off the Earthquakes’ wall before Lodeiro one-timed the rebound into the bottom corner. Lodeiro and Darlington Nagbe of Portland look to be battling it out for the top spot this week, so do your part and vote Lodeiro!
The goal was Lodeiro’s second of the season and helped the Sounders leave San Jose with a point after a 1-1 draw.
