TUKWILA, Wash. - David Estrada and Carlyle Mitchell traded late goals as Seattle Sounders FC (2-6-2, 8 points) drew the Vancouver Whitecaps FC (4-2-4, 16 points), 2-2, in the MLS Reserve League on Monday night at Starfire Stadium.

The Whitecaps FC scored the game's opening goal in the 30th minute. Marco Bustos gathered the ball in the box and fired a shot on frame that deflected off a Sounders FC defender and into the net.

Seattle had its first dangerous opportunity of the match just one minute earlier when Eriq Zavaleta got free in the box, cut back across two defenders but sent his shot wide of the far post.

Zavaleta leveled the score in the 51st minute. Marc Burch found Blair Gavin at the top corner of the box, who sent a hard low cross into the middle of the box where a diving Zavaleta headed in the equalizer.

Whitecaps FC pulled one goal up in the 82nd minute when Carlyle Mitchell knocked in a free kick following a scramble in the box.

In second half stoppage time, Sounders FC netted the late equalizer as Estrada headed in a mis-clearance by the Vancouver into the empty net.

Knighton made three saves in the match, including a diving stop on a Zavaleta header in the 62nd minute. Just three minutes later, Knighton dived to save Andy Rose's attempt from 20 yards.

Dylan Remmick left the match in the 21st minute due to injury and was replaced by Cody Crook.

Vancouver goalkeeper Joe Cannon entered the match in second-half stoppage time and played in the field.

Vancouver won the previous meeting, 4-0, on July 7 behind two goals from Tommy Heinemann and a goal and assist from Erik Hurtado.

Sounders FC hosts Real Salt Lake on September 14 in the final home match of the season before concluding reserve league play at Portland on October 14. Vancouver's reserve league season has concluded.
