RECAP: Sounders ramp up preseason preparation with 3-0 win over Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna

The Seattle Sounders picked up a 3-0 win over Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna in Marbella, Spain, on Saturday morning. The match featured three 45-minute "halves" split among two groups. You can find a full play-by-play of the match below:

1’ And we are underway from the Marbella Football Center against IF Brommapojkarna (BP). The first lineup consists of Andrew Thomas, Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, Cody Baker, Jackson Ragen, Nouhou, Hassani Dotson, Cristian Roldan, Snyder Brunell, Albert Rusnák, Georgi Minougou and Jordan Morris. Noah Newman, Antino Lopez, Joe Dale, Peter Kingston, Yu Tsukanome are available off the bench!

10’ Ten minutes gone in this one and neither team has had a clear chance at goal, score is still locked 0-0.

12’ Kossa-Rienzi draws a foul right outside the area to set up a free kick for Rusnák to take. He shoots it right into BP’s wall and out for a throw in.

14’ BP gets the first real chance of the game, taking a shot from inside the area that Thomas parries away!

25’ Still scoreless here in Marbella, but most of the action in the last 10 minutes has taken place in front of BP’s goal, but no clear chances have developed.

31’ GOALLLLLLLL! Minoungou crosses a ball to Brunell, who taps it to a trailing Kossa-Rienzi, who smashes a shot that takes a deflection and goes into the back of the net! 1-0 Seattle.

44’ Best chance of the day so far for BP, but the shot goes side left.

45’ And that’s the end of the first 45 minutes of play! We’ll play two more 45-minute sessions, with us currently leading 1-0!

46’ We are back for our next 45 minutes! Lineups remain the same.

55’ Minoungou is having himself a game! He intercepts a pass at midfield and starts a fast break towards BP’s goal, feeding a beautiful through ball to Morris who can’t quote get on the end of it! Our attack looks much stronger in the last 20 minutes of play.

58’ We earn a free kick just outside the area. Rusnák tries to play a ball in over the top, but it unfortunately sails over everyone.

61’ Rusnák plays another dangerous ball in that finds Dotson, but his header sails over the goal.

65’ Minoungou remains dangerous on the left-hand side, earning us a corner after some creative play inside the 18-yard box.

70’ We make an entire lineup change! Max Anchor, Alex Roldan, Yeimar Gómez Andrade, Gallatin Sandnes, Paul Rothrock, Obed Vargas, Nikola Petković, Osaze De Rosario, Sebastian Gomez, Jesús Ferreira and Danny Musovski all enter the match to see this one out!​

75’ Rothrock immediately creates a dangerous chance! He streaks up the left-hand side and crosses a low ball in that take a few deflections before eventually the action settles down.

84’ GOAL! Vargas makes a great run up the middle and draws a foul, and Ferreira converts the ensuing free kick! 2-0 Seattle!

90’ That’s the end of the second 45 minutes! We’ll take a quick break before resuming the action.

91’ And we are back for the last 45 minutes! No changes to the second group lineup.

97’ GOAL! Ferreira gets his second with a great strike into the top of the net! De Rosario header finds the feet of the forward, who easily smashes it home to make it 3-0 Seattle!

110’ Still 3-0 here as we near the end of this contest. Since Ferreira’s second goal, action has been pretty balanced at both ends of the field.

118’ BP has what looks like its best chance of the match, but their player is called just offsides. Anchor makes the save comfortably anyway.
