The future is bright for Reed Baker-Whiting.
Ahead of the 2022 Generation adidas Cup -- the premier youth soccer tournament in North America that pits MLS academies against the biggest clubs in the world -- Baker-Whiting has been named one of the top 11 players to watch. Baker-Whiting, who turned 17-years-old last week, is a versatile central midfielder that already has five MLS appearances. An exciting prospect for both club and country, the Seattle native was a member of the 2019 Sounders Academy team that became the first MLS side to win the GA Cup Champions Division.
"One of the only players bringing full MLS experience with him from Seattle Sounders FC, Reed Baker-Whiting is one of the top American prospects born in 2005," wrote MLSsoccer.com's Travis Clark. "An all-action midfielder that can do a little bit of everything, he has a shot at being one of the top North American players on display in Texas."
