Seattle landmarks get hyped for Thursday's Western Conference Championship

From the tallest building in the city to a vessel crossing the Puget Sound, the city of Seattle is hyped for Thursday's showdown against the Houston Dynamo in the second leg of the Western Conference Championship. The Sounders enter the contest with a 2-0 lead after securing two first-half goals in Leg 1 at BBVA Compass Stadium last week. If the Sounders maintain their advantage for the remaining 90 minutes, they would clinch the West for the first time at home. So yeah, Seattle is pretty stoked. Here's a rundown of some Rave Green love that you may see the next couple of days.

All Washington State Ferries traveling into and out of Seattle’s Coleman Dock on Wednesday and Thursday are once again flying Sounders FC flags, while the Fremont Troll sports a troll-sized scarf on Wednesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, The Showbox will display supportive messaging on its marquee on Wednesday evening ahead of Thursday’s clash.

There are also plenty of lighting displays throughout the city. The Russell Investments Center, through building owner CommonWealth Partners, is set to once again light up the city’s waterfront with a special “Born in 74” display on Wednesday and Thursday, while the Hammering Man in front of the Seattle Art Museum will also show its support on Wednesday evening.

The Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) will light up South Lake Union’s waterfront on Thursday evening, while Columbia Center and CenturyLinkLink Field intend to go green on Wednesday and Thursday. The Seattle Great Wheel will also put on a Sounders-themed light show on Wednesday and Thursday, courtesy of designer Gerry Hall.

Even the SR 520 bridge is showing its support, with Rave Green sentinels lighting the way on Wednesday and Thursday.
