Following Saturday's historic 4-1 victory on the road against Sporting Kansas City, pundits across the American soccer media are heaping praise on the Seattle Sounders.
The Rave Green rose to the No. 1 and No. 4 spots in the Matchday 5 Power Rankings for ESPN.com and MLSsoccer.com, respectively.
In particular, league experts pointed to the red-hot form of Jordan Morris and the breakout performance from Léo Chú as reasons to be optimistic about Seattle' season thus far.
"Fun fact: The Sounders are undefeated all time when Jordan Morris scores four goals and Leo Chu picks up four assists, as they did in beating SKC," wrote ESPN.com's Ryan Rosenblatt.
MLSsoccer.com contributor J. Sam Jones echoed those sentiments.
"The Sounders went down 1-0 early and then Jordan Morris decided to put in the performance of the season," wrote Jones. "Morris, the Golden Boot presented by Audi leader, has seven goals already and just seems generally better at soccer than pretty much everyone else right now. It helps of course that Léo Chú was there for Seattle to deliver four assists at SKC, but Morris has been something close to unstoppable."
The Sounders return to action on Saturday as they visit the LA Galaxy (4:30 p.m. PT; FOX, Watch for free on the Apple TV app) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
