Seattle Sounders favored over Colorado Rapids to reach 2016 MLS Cup

The Seattle Sounders are slight favorites to defeat the Colorado Rapids in the Western Conference Championship and advance to MLS Cup, according to ESPN’s Soccer Power Index.


The Sounders have a 54 percent chance to reach their first MLS Cup and a 27 percent chance of winning the title. Toronto FC is the favorite of the remaining four teams with a 29 percent chance of capturing MLS Cup.

Seattle defeated FC Dallas on 4-2 aggregate to reach the conference championship. Colorado outlasted the LA Galaxy on penalty kicks after finishing 1-1 on aggregate.


The Sounders host the Rapids in the first leg of the series on Tuesday, Nov. 22 (7 p.m. PT; FS1, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM), before playing the return leg in Commerce City on Sunday, Nov. 27.
