Seattle Sounders FC 2 has been included in the USL Power Rankings for the first time this season, coming in at No. 10 in the Week 11 rankings. The Rave Green earned the weekly honor for the impressive 3-0 win against LA Galaxy II at the weekend. S2 has improved to 5-5-2 on the year, good for third place in the Western Conference.
A five-person panel at USLsoccer.com votes each week on the 10 most in-form teams out of the 30 teams in the league. The comprehensive victory over Los Dos, coupled with S2's rise toward the top of the Western Conference, impressed the judges enough to crack the top 10. In particular, the panel noted the recent form of striker Irvin Parra and the squad’s attack as reasons why the Rave Green will likely be competing in the playoffs at the end of the season.
S2 returns to action on the road this weekend for a Western Conference tilt with Houston Dynamo affiliate Rio Grande Valley FC at H-E-B Park. The Toros, ranked sixth in the Week 11 Power Rankings, are led by two former Sounders Academy and S2 staff members, Junior Gonzalez and Brett Uttley. The match will be streamed on SoundersFC.com
