The North American Soccer Reporters voted Dempsey as the Alcatel MLS Player of the Week for Week 19 for his efforts in the Seattle Sounders’ 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids on Tuesday. Dempsey scored twice and added an assist to lead Seattle to a massive Western Conference away win.
Dempsey leads the Sounders with seven goals in 16 games this season. Seattle will host German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday (12 p.m. PT; JOEtv, ROOT Sports outside Seattle, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS) in an international friendly before returning to MLS play on July 19 at home to D.C. United.
