Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei is in the finals for the AT&T 2016 MLS Save of the Year.
Frei is nominated for his lunging reaction save against New York City FC in Week 16. He is up against Orlando City SC’s Joe Bendik, who made two lunging saves in one sequence against Sporting Kansas City in Week 11.
Frei defeated the Portland Timbers’ Jake Gleeson in the first round, the Vancouver Whitecaps’ David Ousted in the second round, Gleeson again in the quarterfinals and FC Dallas’ Chris Seitz in the semifinals.
