Seattle Sounders’ Jordan Morris, Stefan Frei still in running for AT&T Goal of the Year, Save of the Year

Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris and goalkeeper Stefan Frei are still alive in the running for AT&T Goal of the Year and Save of the Year, respectively. Each has advanced to the Round of 16.

Morris is nominated for his equalizer against Toronto FC on July 2, in which he collected a through ball over the top of the defense, made a deft turn and fired home a right-footed strike.

Morris defeated Columbus Crew SC’s Federico Higuain in the first round before outlasting the Montreal Impact’s Ignacio Piatti in the Round of 32. His next challenge is against Piatti as well, for a goal scored against the Vancouver Whitecaps. You can vote online now.

Frei is nominated for his lunging reaction save against New York City FC on June 25.

Frei easily took down the Portland Timbers’ Jake Gleeson in the first round of the 32-save bracket. His next challenger is the Whitecaps’ David Ousted for his stop against Orlando City.

Voting for this round ends on Wednesday.
