- Osvaldo Alonso starts in defensive midfield after leaving the second leg of the Western Conference Championship against the Colorado Rapids with a slight knee sprain. He was officially listed as questionable heading into match, but head coach Brian Schmetzer said on Friday that Alonso would play.


- Erik Friberg starts in midfield after being a late scratch (calf strain) in the Sounders’ win over the Rapids.


- Friberg replaces Andreas Ivanschitz, whose start against the Rapids was his first one in seven matches after recovering from a sprained knee.


- Brad Evans in on the 18-man roster after being a late scratch against the Rapids as well while recovering from a left ankle sprain.
