Seattle Sounders to visit San Jose Earthquakes in fifth round of 2017 U.S. Open Cup

The Seattle Sounders will visit the San Jose Earthquakes on June 28 at 7:30PM in the Round of 16 in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup.

The remaining 16 teams were divided into four regions — East, Central, South and West — and placed in a random draw by region. Should the Sounders defeat the Earthquakes and advance to the quarterfinals, they will host the winner of the other West match, the LA Galaxy vs. Sacramento Republic.

The Sounders and Earthquakes tied 1-1 in San Jose on April 8 in their first MLS meeting earlier this year. Seattle advanced to the Open Cup Round of 16 following a 2-1 win over the Portland Timbers on Tuesday night at Starfire Sports.
