The Seattle Sounders are visiting the Portland Timbers on Sunday (1 p.m. PT; ESPN, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM) in the 100th all-time meeting between the two clubs. Here is the Delta Starting XI:

NOTES:


- Midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro will miss his third consecutive match due to his fractured toe.


- Captain Osvaldo Alonso will miss Sunday’s match with a left quad strain, the opposite leg from his prior injury. His injury is not expected to be long term.


- Forward Will Bruin will miss Sunday’s match because of left heel pain suffered during the midweek match in Toronto. Clint Dempsey will start at forward in Bruin’s stead.


- The Sounders are employing a five-man back line for the second straight match, with Kim Kee-hee, Kelvin Leerdam and Nouhou reinserted into the startling lineup after resting midweek.


Magnus Wolff Eikrem makes his second straight start, while Harry Shipp (ankle sprain) returns to the 18-man roster.
