The Seattle Sounders are hosting the Colorado Rapids on Saturday in their first of two matches this season. Here is everything you need to know:

Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. PT at Lumen Field (TICKETS).

WHERE TO WATCH: The match will be televised on FOX and FREE on Apple TV.

WHERE TO LISTEN: The match will air on 950 KJR AM and El Rey 1360AM.

2024 RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders: 0-1-1 (1 point, 13th West), Rapids: 1-1-1 (4 points, 7th West)

PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders defeated the Rapids 2-1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado on Sept. 20, 2023. Léo Chú and Albert Rusnák scored for Seattle, while Cole Bassett pulled back a late consolation goal for the hosts.

PHILLY POSTPONEMENT: Seattle enters this weekend off an abandoned match last Saturday in Philadelphia. After just a few minutes of play, the Sounders and Union match was postponed until a later date due to inclement weather and a waterlogged pitch.

RETURNING REINFORCEMENTS?: The impromptu week off has afforded some extra time for a few Sounders players nursing injuries to potentially be fit for this weekend. Stefan Frei (hamstring), Rusnák (ankle) and João Paulo (hip) are all one week closer to seeing the pitch.

ROLDAN CENTURY MARK: Saturday will be marked as Alex Roldan's 100th regular-season match. After this weekend, the 27-year-old veteran will have appeared in 138 matches since being drafted by the Sounders from Seattle University in 2018.

ROLLING THE RAPIDS: Following a commanding 4-0 win over the Rapids at Lumen Field in last year’s season-opener, the Sounders boast an incredible 16 wins in their last 19 matches against Colorado in Seattle, including seven in a row. Seattle’s 0.842 win percentage at home against the Rapids is the highest in MLS history among fixtures played at least 10 times.

NEW FACES: Former New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC manager Chris Armas took the reins this past offseason and with him brought several high-profile names. United States national teamers Djordje Mihailovic and Zack Steffen highlight the new blood, while former Homegrown defender Sam Vines returns after three years in Belgian’s top flight with Royal Antwerp.

POROUS IN DEFENSE: The Rapids allowed 54 goals last season, fourth-worst in the Western Conference and tied for sixth in MLS. Colorado has already conceded six times through the opening three matches this year, with only Orlando City SC, the New England Revolution and San Jose Earthquakes having conceded more.
