The Seattle Sounders are going to the Concacaf Champions League Final for the first time in club history. Come support the team as we take on Liga MX's Pumas UNAM and try to become the first MLS club to win CCL and go to the FIFA Club World Cup!

UNBEATEN RUN: After a slow start to the season while juggling CCL and several injuries, the Sounders have found their form. They enter this weekend unbeaten in their last seven matches (4-0-3) in all competitions.

HEAVY ROTATION: With only three days’ rest after a gutsy road tilt across the country, Head Coach Brian Schmetzer will look to rotate his squad on Saturday. He said after the match that there will be plenty of young kids getting minutes, but he still expects to win each and every time they take the field. Plus, it’s not something new.

YEDLIN HOMECOMING: The biggest storyline on Saturday is the return of Seattle native DeAndre Yedlin. The first Homegrown Player in Sounders history, Yedlin spent two years with the club before departing on an eight-year career abroad playing for Tottenham, Sunderland, Newcastle and Galatasaray. He joined Miami ahead of this campaign.

HENDERSON HOME TOO: Like Yedlin, this will mark the return of former Sporting Director and inaugural front office staff member Chris Henderson. The Edmonds, Wash., native joined Inter Miami ahead of the 2021 season as Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director.

MORE SEATTLE TIES: Saturday’s match also marks the return of former Sounders players Joevin Jones and Damion Lowe. Jones joined Miami ahead of the 2021 season after two stints with the Sounders, including helping the club win the 2016 and ’19 MLS Cups. Lowe spent three years with the Sounders from 2014-16 but never saw the field. The Jamaica international spent time in USL, Norway and Egypt before returning to MLS this season.

FORWARD CONUNDRUM: With legendary forward Gonzalo Higuaín out last week, 21-year-old forward Leonardo Campana struck for a hat trick in Miami’s first win of the season over the New England Revolution. The Ecuadorian is the reigning MLS Player of the Week, and Head Coach Phil Neville has an important choice to make ahead of the cross-country match.

DEFENSIVE STRUGGLES: Miami enters the weekend tied for last in MLS in goals allowed this season with 15 through six matches. Only CF Montreal and the San Jose Earthquakes have been as porous defensively, and no team has a worse goal differential than Miami’s -9.
