PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders and Loons played to a 1-1 draw at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minn., on Aug. 27, 2023. Yeimar opened the scoring for Seattle in the 17th minute before recording an own goal in the 56th minute to level the match.

INTERNATIONAL DUTY: The Sounders will be without defenders Stuart Hawkins and potentially Nouhou for the second straight match, as they are away with their respective national teams. Hawkins is with the United States U-19s for a pair of friendlies in South America, while Nouhou, who scored his first career international goal against Cape Verde over the weekend, is participating in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

SOUNDERS SUPREMACY: Seattle has had Minnesota’s number since the Loons entered MLS in 2017. The Sounders have lost just once in 14 regular-season matches (11-1-2) and are perfect at Lumen Field (7-0-0).

BREAKOUT STAR: Loons forward Tani Oluwaseyi is having a dream start to 2024. The 24-year-old leads his team with seven goals and played his way into his first Canada cap this past weekend against France in an international friendly. Oluwaseyi joined Minnesota in 2022 but spent much of the last two years on loan with Minnesota United 2 and San Antonio FC of the USL Championship.
