2024 RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders: 4-6-5 (17 points, 9th West), RSL: 8-2-5 (29 points, 1st West)

FORM GUIDE (all competitions, most recent first): Seattle: WWDLW, Real Salt Lake: DWWDL

PREVIOUS MEETING: Real Salt Lake defeated the Sounders 2-0 in Sandy, Utah, just two weeks ago. Andrés Gómez and Diego Luna scored on either side of halftime for the hosts.

BRUCE LEE MATCH: Seattle will conclude a month’s worth of festivities celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month with its second Bruce Lee Match. Working with the Bruce Lee Foundation, the Sounders will celebrate the AANHPI community with AANHPI-owned food vendors, a pop-up exhibit by Wing Luke Museum and more.

BUSY MONTH CONCLUDES: The Sounders will play their final match in the month of May on Wednesday, a stretch that saw them play eight games in 25 days.

MORRIS ON THE MARK: Seattle forward Jordan Morris scored the match-winning goal over the weekend at St. Louis CITY SC. The Homegrown attacker has now scored in back-to-back MLS matches.

PLAYOFF POSITIONING: The Sounders begin the week in the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, climbing into that position after strong recent results have steadied the ship. Seattle feels like its luck is finally changing.

ELEVEN MATCHES UNBEATEN: Real Salt Lake enters Wednesday’s contest unbeaten in its last 11 MLS matches, including a thrilling come-from-behind 3-3 draw at FC Dallas last weekend. Outside of a U.S. Open Cup loss to the USL Championship’s New Mexico United, RSL has not lost in league play since March 9.

CHICHO MVP CASE: Forward Chicho Arango continues his push for MLS MVP halfway through the season. The Colombian forward leads the league with 13 goals, two more than anyone else, and has also added eight assists, which is tied for fifth. He’s been involved in 21 of RSL’s 30 goals scored.
