The Seattle Sounders are hosting the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday in Leg 2 of the Round of 16 in the Concacaf Champions Cup. Here is everything you need to know:
WHEN AND WHERE: Kickoff is at 8 p.m. PT at ONE Spokane Stadium in Spokane, Wash.
WHERE TO WATCH: The match will be available to watch on FS2 and TUDN.
2026 CCC FORMAT: Twenty-seven clubs from North America, Central America and the Caribbean will play in a tournament consisting of five rounds: Round One, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Final. Each round up until the final consists of a two-leg series using aggregate scoring to determine a winner. The final will be a single match on May 30.
TIEBREAKERS: If the two teams’ aggregate score is tied after two legs, whichever team scored more away goals will advance. If still tied, two 15-minute extra time periods will be played with the away goals rule no longer in effect. If still tied, a penalty shootout will determine a winner.
LEG 1 RESULT: The Sounders defeated the Whitecaps 3-0 at BC Place in Vancouver last Thursday behind a brace from Paul Arriola and a goal from Paul Rothrock.
HOW THEY ADVANCE:
Sounders: Win, draw, or two-goal loss or fewer
Whitecaps: At least a four-goal win or a three-goal win of 4-1 or greater
Extra Time: A 3-0 Vancouver win would send the match to two 15-minute extra time periods before a penalty shootout, if necessary.
HOW THEY QUALIFIED:
Sounders: 2025 Leagues Cup winner
Whitecaps: 2025 Supporters’ Shield standings
ROUND ONE RESULTS:
Sounders: Bye via Leagues Cup title
Whitecaps: Defeated Costa Rica’s C.S. Cartaginés 2-0 on aggregate
BEST CCC FINISH:
Sounders: Winner (2022)
